This consulting work was for a project to map the entirety of Eastern DRC and parts of Uganda with common place names, landmarks and pertinent information about understood and accepted communities to make contact tracing for infectious diseases easier at local health clinics. Supported the creation of boundary data of locations that will be visited for field data collection.
My responsibilities included:
• Automating the creation of 3D QGIS projects using Python, Bash and GDAL tools for the easing of digitization efforts by field staff.
• Advising on technical approach to generating field maps and organizing field work
• Providing training to field staff on a using QGIS to generate this data for field maps
Geospatial Consultant, Sustainable Wildlife Management (SWM) Programme

Using PostgreSQL and extensions, developed routing scheme for transfer of waste from informal dump sites to official site. Planned and managed a project siting ground control points for a detailed drone survey or Dar es Salaam rivers. Partnered with TZ government & PATH to clean and augment seed data for a geospatial data portal of Tanzania boundaries. Developed skills and experience with community-based data collection using OpenDataKit and other tools. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service - Portland, OR, USA (Remote Since August 2018

Facilitate acquisition of goods and services up to $1,500,000 for 62 USFWS field stations across the West Coast & HI. Completed over 220 contracts for over $5 million combined in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Train new acquisition professionals in the essentials of acquisition within the USFWS context. Practice excellent customer service by efficiently meeting needs, queries and requests of USFWS field staff. Manage and improve contractor past performance reporting system for 2 USFWS regions.
Special Projects:
National Onboarding Program: Served as Team Leader for group developing a comprehensive onboarding program for agency-wide use by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Led a team in content creation of a website for new employees.
National Hiring Initiative: Team Leader on a “Tiger Team” to facilitate the hiring of 73 biologists for the US Fish & Wildlife Service. Condensed the normally 90-120 day hiring process into 41 days. Led & managed team in data manipulation processes, helped develop innovative solutions to meet short timelines (including utilizing video interviews, Doodle scheduling, and Google Documents).
